Concrete Calculator
Free concrete calculator that estimates the amount of concrete needed for any construction project that you may have. The below calculators take into account different shapes and allow for precise calculations of multiple different configurations.

How to calculate concrete volume
To calculate the volume of concrete required for a particular project, you need to determine the volume of the space that will be filled with concrete, and then multiply that volume by the required thickness. The steps to calculate concrete volume are:
-
Determine the shape of the space: The volume of concrete required will depend on the shape of the space that needs to be filled with concrete. For example, if the space is a rectangular prism, you will need to calculate the volume as length x width x height. If the space is a cylinder, you will need to calculate the volume as πr^2h, where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is the height.
-
Measure the dimensions of the space: Once you have determined the shape of the space, you will need to measure the dimensions of the space. For example, if the space is a rectangular prism, you will need to measure the length, width, and height. If the space is a cylinder, you will need to measure the radius and height.
-
Calculate the volume of the space: Using the formula for the shape of the space, calculate the volume of the space. For example, if the space is a rectangular prism with a length of 10 feet, a width of 5 feet, and a height of 4 feet, the volume of the space would be 10 x 5 x 4 = 200 cubic feet.
-
Multiply by the required thickness: Finally, multiply the volume of the space by the required thickness of the concrete to calculate the volume of concrete required. For example, if the required thickness is 4 inches, or 1/3 of a foot, the volume of concrete required would be 200 x (1/3) = 66.67 cubic feet.
It’s important to note that these calculations are based on the assumption of a solid, uniform block of concrete. In practice, the actual amount of concrete required may be slightly higher to account for waste and the irregular shapes of the poured concrete.
Concrete slab calculation example
To calculate the volume of a concrete block, you need to know its length, width, and height. The formula for volume is:
V = l x w x h
For example, let’s say you have a concrete block that is 3 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 1 meter high. The volume would be:
V = 3 x 2 x 1 = 6 cubic meters
So the concrete block has a volume of 6 cubic meters.
Concrete column volume calculation
To calculate the volume of a circular concrete column, you need to know its diameter and height. The formula for the volume of a cylinder is:
V = π * (d/2)^2 * h
where d is the diameter of the column, and h is its height.
For example, let’s say you have a circular concrete column with a diameter of 1 meter and a height of 2 meters. The volume would be:
V = π * (1/2)^2 * 2 = π * (1/4) * 2 = (π/2) cubic meters
So the circular concrete column has a volume of (Ï€/2) cubic meters.
